A Message from the Members First Team  | Standing with Our Filipino Family

To Our Filipino Brothers and Sisters in the Union,

We are deeply saddened by the horrific events that unfolded at the Lapu Lapu Day festival on Saturday, April 26th, 2025. The tragedy that took the lives of at least nine members of our community, and left many others in pain, has left us heartbroken.

We want to reach out directly to all of you during this difficult time and remind you:  You are family. You are not alone.

The Members First Team is running in this upcoming election with one central belief, that our strength lies in our connection and our unwavering support for each other. In times of sorrow like this, that connection is more important than ever.

We want you to know that your pain is our pain, your grief is our grief, and your strength is an inspiration to us all. The Filipino community is a core part of who we are, not just at work but in our hearts. You contribute so much to the foundation of LiUNA 1611, and we will always stand with you, no matter what.

As your Union family, we will help lift each other up and move forward together, just as we have done in the face of adversity before. We are here to support you, to grieve with you, and to help you heal in any way we can.
